Mission Statement |
|||||||
The Mission of this website is to find the origin of the Laird surname and trace its branches back to a common ancestor in Ireland or Scotland. This is not an easy task, but we think we are very close to proving where the James and Jane Laird branch of Pennsylvania lived before coming to colonial America in the early 1730s. There is a lot of history recorded about the Lairds' in America and this paper trail is more than just names and places, it also presents a picture of America, and how it came to be. Lairds' of colonial America played a very important role in the founding of this great country and we will post as much of this history as possible. This web site is not about one line of Lairds' but of the whole tree and its branches. As my Uncle Merl often stated if they are a Laird then they are family. So lets get to work and prove my uncle Merl right and connect the dots. Thank you for coming to this web site. I hope you enjoy the information you find here and think of it as a website made for all Lairds' and its branches. |
